What size and format do my images need to be in?

Accepted Answer

All images should be uploaded in .JPG file format, 10 quality, RGB color profile, using the largest file that you have available (max file upload is 100MB). Visual Society resizes your images to fit the product sold, so the larger the original source file we have on file, the better the product will look.

We recommend uploading original high-resolution images captured with at least a 10 megapixel camera or with a file measuring a minimum of 7238 x 4838 pixels. If you plan on selling a lot of large format prints, then we recommend uploading files measuring a minimum of 10838 x 7238 pixels.

Below are the sizes of our most popular product sizes along with the minimum size requirements for each:

8x12 - 3338 x 2588 pixels
12x16 - 4838 x 3638 pixels
16x20 - 6038 x 4838 pixels
16x24 - 7238 x 4838 pixels
20x30 - 9038 x 6038 pixels
24x36 - 10838 x 7238 pixels

Question 2

How do I get paid?

Accepted Answer

Getting paid your sales profit is easy on Visual Society. Here is how you do it:

Click the arrow next to your name in the top right and navigate to Account -> Payouts.
Click the blue Connect to Stripe button.

NOTE: If your country is not supported by Stripe, you can supply your PayPal email address and we will issue a manual payout via PayPal.

Payouts

You will be redirected to Stripe where you can fill out your details.
After connecting your Visual Society account with Stripe, you're now ready to receive automated payouts.
Now when you make a sale, the sales profit will be automatically transferred into your Stripe account.
Stripe will then deposit the money directly into your bank account according to the official Stripe payout schedule.
All payouts will reflect on your PayPal or Stripe account after the payment verification period. Meaning, it will reflect on your account 30 days after the end of the month in which your sale occurred. For example, if your sale occurred on May 20, your sales profit would be sent via PayPal on or before July 1. Payment verification period is required for us to protect the sellers, the print vendors, and us, from the refund or cancellation of the buyers.

How to sell downloads

Accepted Answer

Selling downloads is a feature that is included in the Professional Plan. Sellers on the Professional Plan have an additional option on the Pricing page in their Visual Society Dashboard for setting the pricing for downloads.

Here's how you do it:

Log into the Dashboard and visit the Pricing page.
Click the +New Product

Set a price, name, and description
Make sure to uncheck the part "This is a physical product" to sell downloads, then click Save Product.

How to add a custom domain name

Accepted Answer

Our Professional Plan includes the ability to use a custom domain name to your Visual Society website. For example, if you owned the domain name “johnsmith.com” you could apply it to your Visual Society website.

Requirements

Buy a Domain Name – We recommend purchasing a domain name from NameCheap.
Sign Up for CloudFlare SSL – After buying a domain name, sign up for a free account at CloudFlare.com. CloudFlare provides free SSL certificates, which is a security requirement all custom domains at Visual Society. Follow the prompts at CloudFlare and change your domain name to use CloudFlare’s Nameservers. See this guide for help.
At this point you should have a domain name with an SSL certificate if you completed the two requirement steps above.

How to choose products to sell

Visual Society helps you sell a wide variety of print products with minimal effort. All you need to do is to upload your photographs on its best resolution and we will do the printing, shipping, and handling for you! :)

To select the products you want to sell, log into Visual Society and visit the Pricing page. Choose the type of products that you would want to sell using your photos.

How to customize your homepage

Our Professional Plan includes the ability to customize your homepage with various pre-design layouts. Show a slideshow, your favorite image, a welcome message, your most popular products and much more.

To start customizing, log into your VisualSociety.com account and click the Customize --> Layouts tab.

| All plans can preview the customization options, but only Professional Plan users can save custom layouts.
